Feathers in our Cap
The 2010 annual Airports Company SA (ACSA) rewards
programme, the Feather Awards, acknowledges service
excellence by service providers at its airports.
First Car Rental scooped two Feather Awards in
December 2010 for their Kimberley Airport branch
and for the Upington Airport branch, both for
the Car Hire Service Operator, Small Category
section. Congratulations to all participating
staff! |

Unicyclists’
Rocky Road Home
On 26 November 2010, three CounterBalance ‘Bobs
for Good’ unicyclists and a support driver
in a Purple People Wagon (First Car Rental branded
Quantum) embarked on a world’s first journey
to unicycle 2500 km off-road from Durban to Cape
Town with the aim to raise funds to fit shoes
onto no fewer than 2000 of Mzansi’s neediest
childrens’ feet. Forty-four days later on
8th January 2011 and amid much glory, they successfully
arrived at their final destination, Mouille Point
in Cape Town. |

Idol’s
Graeme Watkins Hitches a (B)ride
On 27 November 2010 Idol’s finalist Graeme
Watkins married his long-time sweetheart, Kim
Coppen, and the Purple People Wagon (First Car
Rental’s branded Quantum) was there to witness
the auspicious occasion. The Purple People Wagon
helped transport some of the 155 guests from King
Shaka Airport to Phinda Game Reserve some 3 hours
away. |
